Those are dowel rods… they’re used for lots of things, but the main thing I think of is crafts…. You can also cut them down and use them to reinforce things like shelves, drawers, tables… when my mom spanked us, she usually used a wooden spoon 😬

I’m so sorry beatings were a regular part of your life. I’m so glad you’re out now. We use dowels to fill and disguise drill holes on wood working projects. It never ONCE crossed my mind to hit one of my kids with one. Hugs!💕
