I've done paving for about 15 years. From what I can see, this doesn't look like a nightmare customer—it looks like a workmanship issue. Before asphalt is laid, the driveway needs to be graded properly so water has somewhere to go. Then the asphalt should be laid consistently with the proper equipment and slope. You shouldn't have multiple puddles sitting all over a newly paved driveway. People are quick to blame the customer, but if someone is spending thousands of dollars on a driveway, they have every right to expect proper drainage and a quality finished product.

So I'm a retired San Diego landscaper 44 years, if my costomer came out like that, I would never speak that way to the homeowner, in fact I would've love and enjoy showing and sharing with him about this pressing issue. I would make sure we would be on the same page moving forward. 💯
