@dr.jennale: Replying to @minecraft_oldhead #greenscreen maintenance calories is a range. We can adapt up or down. Also depending on your cycle, you can have more fluid retention before/during your period. These calculators will be more accurate.
This calculator told me my maintenance is 1798 cal and deficit is 1500. I’m 5”2, 52 kg, do between 10k-14k steps a day, strength training 3x/week and cardio 3x/week. I hate these calculators 😂😭

you're not going to adapt metabolically more than you're in a deficit...

Mr Spock :
The most logical conclusion is that she is not calculating her calories correctly, and I don’t believe that metabolic adaptation, they’ve done studies that show if you lose half of your body weight that your maintenance calories is gonna be significantly lower than that if somebody that didn’t lose. I’ve done my own study on this and for me it’s not true.

My biggest problem is I ate so little for so many years and I tried to eat 1600 calories (which was supposed to be a deficit) and I felt like I was going to throw up it was so much food! My body wasn’t used to that volume at all. How do you adjust to that?

Also how do they classify the activity level? Someone who goes to the gym 6 times a week and walks 10k steps everyday, what category would I fit in?

What do you make of my Tdee being 2200 but there are length of time where I am definitely eating more like 2700 over several weeks. I’m not gaining weight so do you think my body is just using the surplus to build muscle? I don’t really lift very heavy but I do some lifting, hiking, and mat body work.

Recomp feels like it’s taking forever (years instead of months). How do you keep yourself motivated consistently to stick with it? Is it worth taking a temporary “break” by increasing calories?
