They also see through you if you aren’t authentic. I build relationships better with students because of how I interact with them and it’s my authentic self. Who I am at work vs outside of work are basically the same person

when I taught 5th grade this was my mindset and it was so productive and honestly had great classroom community because the level of respect is up there. now that I teach 2nd I am a whole performer, age matters unfortunately

I tell the kids from day 1, the person they get in the class is the person they will see outside of the classroom too. I love them, but I set my expectations high with them.

lol yeah I just had a counselor tell me that my kids be coming in and complaining about how rude and “mean” I am. They have to remind them I’m from Jersey. Very direct and straightforward.
