Same, i felt this on a personal level. The story of the prodigal son is one that hit me. I came back humbly and he embraced me. I will forever be grateful for his mercy and grace.

Okay i totally agree with you but i do have one thing im really struggling to understand. I have been struggling with OCD for a year and a half now and there have been times i was on my knees crying begging God for help. I was told i needed to open up to God instead of just asking, so i tried. For weeks and months i read the bible and i went to church and i tried to live like Jesus but my OCD kept getting worse. I see the “refilling the hairspray” trend where people say God refilled their hairspray, it makes me think, why cant God save me from my suffering but he can refill hairspray? Ive done everything i can and nothing seems to work and sometimes it feels like God is not there.

I could never believe in God knowing me and my mother had to witness my ten year old, very religious sister pass away in our bathroom on Christmas morning. My sister passed away three times while in our bathroom, before she continued to die 2 more times before she even arrived at the hospital. while in the hospital, my mother had to tell the doctors to stop bringing her back because she couldn't watch her daughter be brain dead everytime she was brought back. The doctors want to keep her alive until the next day. God did not save her, nor did he save my mother from severe PTSD after watching her own daughter pass. So no, I couldn't turn to God knowing he could let one of his children die on Christmas morning.
