The Lift Mechanic :
make sure what is attached to that lead is double insulated. A symbol denotes this: square with in a square then brown is active and blue is neutral. When looking at the front of the plug neutral will be on left hand side active on the right.

darling leave that alone.... but if you need to know brown is active, blue is neutral and you dont have an earth.... need 2c+e cable. that cord is from a double insulated device which doesn't need an earth.... don't do it though pls
