Ive seen heat lightning many times - Florida here🙋🏻‍♀️and I’ve never seen it like that. You’re not wrong for questioning it. That doesn’t seem normal to me either.

k so hate to be the nerd, but I've been dealing with this most of my life living in NWFL. you don't here thunder because the distance between you and the storm are greater than the distance sound can travel. while light continously travels until it hits a barrier in this case your eyes😃
