The game might have been slightly better had they not forced players to empathize with Abby by introducing Yara and Lev. The sections featuring Abby felt like a contrived attempt to garner sympathy; they tried to portray her as a good person following Joel's death, but this only made the game more tedious, as it turned into a narrative device aimed at addressing the one area where Naughty Dog and Neil Druckmann had failed to deliver.
