@estellerichter444: in the 12th century, an era when women were meant to stay silent on matters of god, a nun named hildegard von bingen began having visions of light so overwhelming she could not keep quiet about them. so she didn’t. she wrote entire books of theology. she composed music that’s still performed today. she studied plants and healing and the human body. she wrote letters to popes and kings and told them plainly when they were wrong. and here is the remarkable part. she became so undeniable that the church granted her something almost no woman of her time was allowed. she preached in public, to crowds, as a recognised authority. she didn’t make herself smaller and then hope to be noticed. she became so fully and unapologetically herself that they had no choice but to make room for her. that is still the way through. you don’t shrink to be accepted. you become undeniable. send this to a woman who is finished playing small 🕯
