Like, I get how sometimes when typing quickly somebody might make a small mistake, especially with similarly spelled words(like your/you're or their/they're) or because some people are unable to read well due to other reasons other than comprehension (such as some medical conditions), but actually not knowing the difference between those similarly spelled words is a totally different story which should be fixed.
And let's say it's not that person's first language, they're still learning, or they never received proper education; that person would've known better than to just say "grammar police" or "it's not that deep". Learn to accept corrections. Try to get better.
In fact, some reading comprehension skills(such as summarizing) apply to everything. So, some things can't even be excused by not entirely knowing the language(unless there is some other 'third party' affecting these skills; such as medical conditions, especially cognitive conditions).
And even then, those 'third parties' don't always excuse the fact that can try. Trying your best is all I'd ask for.
I'm genuinely not sure if I worded this properly, though. In case I didn't, I wanted to express that I agree with you. (I have a bit of a passion for writing, but I'm not very good, so even I'm trying to get better.)
Anyways, this is one of the best rants I've seen in a while.
