Here’s everything you need to know before you visit La Pelosa, Sardinia. 🌊 This is one of the most protected beaches in Italy — and once you see the water in person, you completely understand why. That impossible shade of turquoise that looks fake even when you’re standing right in front of it. From above it looks even more unreal. 📍 Entry costs €3.50 and you have to book online in advance. You cannot just show up — if you haven’t booked, you’re not getting in. 📍 You cannot put your towel directly on the sand. You need a mat underneath or you risk getting a fine. Bring one or hire one on site. 📍 Only 1,500 people are allowed on the beach per day. Once it’s full, it’s full. Book early. 📍 After 6PM entry is completely free — and the light at that time of day is stunning. If you’re flexible, go in the evening. 📍 There are designated smoking areas on the beach — but smoking outside of those zones is not allowed. 📍 No dogs allowed. 📍 You cannot take any sand or seashells home. The beach is protected and they enforce it seriously. 📍 Parking is very limited. Get there early or take the shuttle from the town of Stintino nearby. 📍 Sunbeds and the little beach bars are priced very differently depending on the month. I was there at the end of May and the prices were almost half of what they become in June. A bag of crisps at the beach bar was €1.50 on 31 May — by 1 June it had jumped to €3. Same story with the sunbeds. If you want La Pelosa without the peak season prices, late May is the sweet spot.
