@whatsthatmeen: “Tell your employer to pay you more” sounds cute until u realize the customer is still paying for it either way… Higher menu prices… service charges… less staff… bigger sections… slower service… U don’t get rid of tipping and magically keep the same restaurant experience for less money. The cost just gets moved somewhere else and everyone pretends it disappeared. Tipping isn’t perfect… but acting like it has nothing to do with the level of service people expect is just not realistic. #serverlife #restaurantindustry #tippingculture #serverproblems #hospitalityindustry
Lady, how do you think the rest of the world does it?

I will never stop saying this, if you’re not going to tip no matter how good the service is, let your server know beforehand and you’ll see the difference between tip service and non tip service

Tipping is so your employer don’t have to pay a livable wage. Simple as that. Be mad at them. Not us. I’ll pay $36 for a burger. Should I tip a cashier? Tip the banker for counting my money. Where do it stop

We don’t need a guest experience, we need to get food or drinks. We are not children, we don’t need constant support. We just want to spend time with our friends. If a business can’t afford to pay salaries to its employees, it should close (like in any other area of business).

Weird how restaurants around the world can pay a living wage and not have outrageous prices.

Why do most other countries find a way to pay their restaurant staff a livable wage so that servers don’t have to rely on customers leaving tips to survive? I’ve eaten in restaurants all over the world and have had excellent service in restaurants where there is no tipping. And the food cost is not noticeably higher!!

Why does paying your staff a liveable wage and optional tips work in virtually all other country? Meals are still reasonably priced too. Maybe your emoloyer needs to take a little less profit 🤔
