@whizzbanghistorical: Today is 6th June, D Day, the day of days, the day Allied troops landed on the coast of Normandy & the battle to liberate Western Europe began. This clip of film was taken on a recent tour I took to Normady & was taken at the Memorial on Gold Beach. To the left you can see the remains of the Mulberry Harbour at Arromanches & the camera pans along Gold Beach to Juno on the extreme right & sweeps across the Standing with Giants installation. It is a beautiful but thought provocing place. #battlefieldtour #ww2 #normandy #DDay #ww2history
