YES!! I had a patient who had an order to change the flow and formula/breastmilk every other feed! I immediately asked about it and got it changed to be consistent👏🏼 PS I’m very very anti disposable nipple

YES! My 35 week baby was getting used to the slow flow Gold nipple and they moved him so quickly to the lavender nipple and if it was help upside down it dripped soo fast! He had a brady and desat and i freaked out! Was able to tell our fav nurse if we can be consistent with the gold and his order was changed ❤️but never thought of bringing in our own bottle/nipple and will def be doing that! do you recommend a certain brand?! thank you so much for this!!!

I never changed my 21 month old’s nipple from newborn to done. I currently have a nicu baby and I’ll do the same.

My baby swapped from preemie to transitional and has stayed there. He came home on an ng tube. We’re still on transitional but I will keep this in mind as he goes back to speech next week and they had wanted to swap his nipple to a 1

yup i was so pissed I literally almost got thrown out of the NICU the nurse was using a ripple that if you turn it upside down the milk poured out, on mu 35 week old baby, he started choking and almost aspirated on it, this set him back to 100% tube feeds and made his stay at the NICU double the length! I was so upset and ita been 12 years im still pissed

I wish I had heard this when my baby was born. He was not a nicu baby and he was on the slowest flow nipple possible until 4 months old because he kept choking everytime we tried to move him up. We finally started switching slowly when he started chewing instead of sucking for comfort and now he’s sucking down 6 oz like it’s nothing 🥰 it’s not a race, it’s about baby and what they need

What do you recommend for a CDH baby he’s one month old still in NICU. He takes the pacifier well. They just took out the NJ out from his mouth and put NG through his nose today. Been practicing non nutritive breastfeeding and latches on for a few minutes. They told us they would start with a preemie nipple when he starts bottle feeding.
