I asked my vet to write a prescription so I can get it from Sam’s Club and she said you have to get it from us. I said “if that’s the case I will not be coming back”. She wrote it and I’m still not coming back

I'm a veterinarian, and what is happening to the profession is a corporate takeover. Corporations now owns 50% of regular clinics in the US. They have raised prices to an unreasonable level on services and medications. I do a specialty now, but I always worked to keep medication prices reasonable and fair. If you get medications for your pet at a pharmacy, always check the Good Rx price. Be aware, some medications from the vet are not available at local pharmacies.

I get what u r saying and I agree I am all about saving money any time I can however what my vet said to me speaks volumes. He looked at me one day and said I have a business that I have to run and it’s not cheap there’s salaries equipment ect, and just think of this is those pharmacies there for u whenever ur pet has an emergency? No they r not, but I am! Like I said I’m all about savings also but I’m also about my vets availability to me when my fur baby needs him! So I do use Costco for a couple of things and the rest I support my vet.
