@londonzooofficial: Meet one of nature's most dedicated dads. 🐸 Male Darwin's frogs carry their tadpoles inside their vocal sacs - protecting them through every stage of development until they emerge as fully formed froglets. Last year, 11 males made the 7,000-mile journey from Chile to London Zoo as part of an urgent mission to rescue the species from a deadly fungal disease that caused a 90% population decline in under a year. Once safely here, they did what Darwin's frog dads do best - and 33 froglets were born. We've been working to bring people closer - closer to wildlife and closer to one another with magical wildlife to educate, inspire and delight the whole family. On Father's Day, Sunday 21 June, we have some wonderful activities for families to enjoy with Dad - learn more here on our website. Father's Day at London Zoo is made possible thanks to a legacy donation.
