@mumsbalance: Part 6 how race impacts wealth My husband and I have a combined pension pot of around £355,000. Doyou know how much is in yours? Not so we can go on fancy holidays in our 70s although I wouldn’t mind that 😅 but so we can support ourselves and continue to support our kids as long as we can With a workplace pension, you contribute, your employer contributes and government gives you tax relief. And if you opt out you get none of it!!!! Not financial advice, just raising awareness and sharing my journey. Always check with a professional 🧑🏫
it's because many live in poverty we can't afford to put money aside in a pension

I have a small pension. I don’t opt out but as 50 something with no kids. I’ll tell you right now. I know I’ll be working till I die. Pension is useless for me.

They need to make the private pensions accessible at a much younger age or pretty much whenever you want cos late 50s is too late, not many even live until that age unfortunately

It’s because of misinformation, the amount of time I had to correct people on the idea that if they die then the money disappears

I’m a teacher and for the past 8 months I’ve opted out of my pension because I can’t afford to put 9% of my salary in a pension. I have realised I’ll be working until I die 😳

pension is the biggest con going out there. anyone with an ounce realise working till your 68 to 75 to retire is a joke.
