Thomas :
There are still a lot of things about the Karmelo case that don’t sit right with me.
First, Hunter was allegedly there and witnessed what happened. If that’s the case, why wasn’t he called to testify? He could potentially provide important information about who was there, what happened before the incident, and what he personally saw.
Second, the young man who reportedly had his phone out is said to be Karmelo’s friend. The same friend who invited him over to the tent. We’re supposed to believe he was only pretending to record? In today’s society, kids record everything. Fights, arguments, football games, pranks, and random moments all end up on video. So it’s difficult for me to understand why a fight would break out and he would suddenly decide not to record it.
I’m not saying I know for a fact what happened to any video. What I am saying is that I believe these are questions worth asking. If a recording existed, was it reviewed? Did investigators see it? Was it ever turned over as evidence? Those are fair questions.
I also believe the defense should be pressing harder on some of these issues. There are questions that many people still have, and I haven’t heard satisfactory answers to them. If I were on that jury, I would want to know more about the eyewitnesses, the phone situation, and the events leading up to the incident.
At the end of the day, I’m not claiming to know everything that happened. I’m simply saying that there appear to be unanswered questions, and when someone’s future is on the line, every question deserves to be thoroughly examined before a final judgment is made.
