I lived in my car for a year and a half. When I finally started getting out, I had to stay in extended stay hotels—sometimes over $100 a night. Do the math—that’s $3,000+ a month just to have a roof while working gig jobs with no insurance. Then gas went up. I’ve got bad credit, so getting an apartment is almost impossible without a huge deposit I can’t come up with. As a delivery driver, the more I work, the more I spend—gas, brakes, oil, maintenance… it all eats it. It’s expensive being poor. And in 54 years, I’ve paid more into this system than a lot of the people making the rules.

In order to have credit or build credit/they make you go in debt. Get a credit card and use it they say. Credit scores will remain to keep people spending money they never had. Get you comfortable with being in debt. And then nervous system.💸

I keep saying. I don’t understand why as a civilization we want people to work 40 hours a week. When we have so many people jobless? And then overworked employed people? Why are we not evolved enough to want more community? Work 20 hours a week and get paid 5k a month. So we can still line the billionaires pockets. Spend more ourselves. And enjoy life as a society? How is this where we’re at? Healthcare is a right. A home is a right. Food is a right. CLEAN water is a right. It’s just lost on me.
