The saddest part is that I look at these people and visualize what kind life they would have if they were sober. I don’t see what they see. I could see her in a nice moderate house, driving a nice car, heading to work, maybe as a nurse or maybe doing something in administration! She’s well versed, talking about support systems so passionately, maybe even some sort of case management or criminal justice reform work. Weirdly, I imagine her doing simple yet regular “normal” things. Taking out the trash, saving for a home, worry about car troubles, traveling and vacations. I see these people truly making an impact 🥺🥺 I wish they could see what others see in them. These wonderful humans have so much potential. ❤️
