“Psyop” and they just mimic infant regulation and physiological features we’ve lost long since 😅 blankets mimic wombs, they also mimic ancestral hairy “humans” (aka monkeys and hairy cavemen) feeling on skin. We love comfortable squashy surfaces to sleep on because we used to sleep close to our mother’s body naturally. Especially on the belly and chest area (breast). These all regulate your nervous system and calm you.

I don’t know how to describe it, but falling asleep under my car for 10-15 minutes feels better than 6 hours in bed

Side sleeping is superior and you can’t do that on the floor. You need firm high pillow to elevate head so neck isn’t crooked during a side sleep.

This, the mouth breathing epidemic and the narrow toe box in shoes epidemic are 3 of the hidden, non-mainstream things in medicine/physiology that aren’t being discussed enough.

Yes. We should sleep in a cushioned bed. We’re going to all die and be forgotten and you think we should sleep on rocks? Make better content man

Wow this is so so interesting because on an extra layer of how I understand this to being helpful knowledge- it explains why, despite working on regulating my nervous system and becoming pretty used to life on the road in a van, my body reacts like I’ve not slept for the whole time I’ve been away as soon as I am offered a bed in a house. Subconsciously feeling unsafe plus actual safety blockers plus a sleeping environment and bed that isn’t designed to get you there.

Nothing will ever beat this, no pillow, only mushy earth, a thick jacket as a pillow and a cover. Breezes at the night making the shed sing a low hum that almost sounds like the wind is telling “its okay, until the next day, relax”

i slept on a bed like this for a while during my trip in rural bangladesh, at first it was uncomfortable but after a while, when i tell you i was having some of the best sleep ever. this type of mattress is called a toshok in bangladesh, it’s basically just a futon mattress.

Sturmgeschütz :
Early hominins used ash as foundation, layered grass, aromatic leaves that repelled insects and pelts or fur. On top of digging ergonomic pits with their shapes. The beds had layers, multiple layers and this was 200000 years ago, we're talking early homo sapiens. They would routinely burn the to get rid of parasites.

I sleep on a 3” floor futon. For 6 months now and my body has never felt better. I don’t even sit on my couch anymore lol I sit on the floor. I think part of it may also be the nervous system has a hard time figuring out where it is in space when you’re 3-4 feet off the ground lol.
