I have a cochlear implant, I hated it for a short bit of the time cause it doesnt sound normal, all these different sounds and it would give me a headache. it would drives me crazy but I knew it would get better. but it sadly he doesnt know 100% at a very young age, ivs worn hearing aid all the way up till my early 20. once I got done I could tell the huge difference.

Hi! Love your content thank you for sharing these experiences on here ☺️I’m an audiologist, and just wanted to add that the CIs typically sound louder after even just a few days of non use which may have been why he was more aversive to it. If you like to let him not wear them when he’s sick, it can help to ease him back in so the brain can adapt again by reducing the volume and increasing back up day by day!

I use to fight my mom not wanting to wear my hearing aids she make me do like an hour a day and slowly work out way up bc I get headaches from them at first now my husband has to take them out when I fall asleep

is there a secondary pair he can wear at night? I assume theyre very expensive though so it would be understandable why there isnt a secondary one. boy just wants to hear the noise while he sleeps its kinda cute, but charging them is important for the next day 😅

My brother hated them and would take them off and then eventually he came up to us and told us to put them off and now he does it himself

during my first year of teaching, i had a deaf student using cochlear implants. whenever i was teaching her class, i had to attach this tiny microphone to my clothes so she was able to hear my voice clearer and everything else went to soft background noise. is this something that you do for Paxtyn as well?
