@cybersecuredad: 👀 No camera. No app. No phone in your pocket. And a WiFi network can still figure out it’s you walking through the room. Here’s what’s actually happening. The devices around you constantly send little unencrypted “feedback” signals to routers to fine-tune their connection. Researchers at Germany’s Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) found those signals can be read by anyone nearby and turned into a kind of radio outline of the people in a space. Feed that to AI, and in a test of 197 people it matched them with roughly 99.5% accuracy. ⚠️ The unsettling part: you don’t have to be connected to anything. Someone else’s phone or laptop talking to the router is enough. Two honest caveats. This is a research finding, not something deployed in your home or your local coffee shop. And matching the “radio signature” to your actual name still takes extra data. But the team is warning it could become part of the next WiFi standard, which is exactly why they’re calling for privacy protections now, before it becomes the norm. There’s no toggle to fix this one. Sometimes the only protection is knowing it exists, so you recognize it when the headlines catch up.🫡 Send this to the person who swears airplane mode makes them a ghost. So a lot of murders and crimes are about to be solved, right? 🧐

It’s something young people today can’t understand, how living in the 80s and 90s was like, feeling so ”invisible”, free.

Genuine question: This is helpful info, but the caption and script seem to be written with chatgpt? No hate, it's just giving me cognitive dissonance...

Once they get your body movement data then theoretically you’ll be able to be tracked wherever there are other cameras with the same capabilities. For example, they won’t need Face ID to know if you were at specific protests , etc
