It's getting harder and harder to tell real / genuine leather from faux / vegan leather these days, here are a few tips from a dry cleaner on how to sort out what's what: 1) The 'pinch test'. If it creases easily and feels thin it's probably faux leather (unless it's lambskin which is very thin and soft). Real leather will roll instead of crease due to its thickness 2) Flip it over! The back of real leather should be fleshy (this is what suede is). However if the back is fabric then it's definitely not real leather! 3) Burn test. Since faux leather is plastic, it burns pretty easy while real leather is really wonderful at resisting heat.
