i think pink was there for some time but she left knowing steven will be okay ? because the gem of pink can give him the powers, but can't give him her memories. so when he was seeing memories pink was still there but she left

“that’s his mom” no. that’s steven. that’s self love. this episode is showing that you can love yourself the way you are even if an authoritarian figure doesn’t. it’s showing that from a young age we are taught to conform to what others want/or expect us to be. Steven chose Steven. Steven chose to love himself despite the fact that his parents were flawed. Steven chose to love himself despite the fact there were two separate parts of him. Steven chose to love himself even though others thought he was a mistake. This scene represents choosing yourself, choosing to love yourself, even when the world is against you. Because that’s the only way you’ll be happy in your story.

Anybody who is saying that Steven finally met his mother kinda missed the entire point of the episode. Everyone from home world has kept forcing the belief that he is not Steven and just pink diamond or Rose quartz. Both of them are dead they are long gone and that’s the point. this reveal was supposed to reveal the ultimate question whether Steven is actually Steven or just another version of his mother.

that's not him dancing with his mum, pink Steven screamed that she's gone. That's Steven realising who he is. It pretty much ruins the whole meaning if you say he is a fusion with pink or that pink is dancing with Steven. They're different people entirely and pink is forever gone

My main take away from this scene is steven finally accepting and loving himself. I see this dance more of an act of self love even if you can head rose's laugh. his mother is gone, he's dancing with his love.

This scene is such a beautiful full circle moment.. Rose says in her tape she recorded for Steven. "we can't both exist, I'm going to become half of you and I need you to know that every moment you love yourself that's me loving you and loving being you" it's what makes him reuniting with his gem half beautiful. it's both him loving himself, and his mother's love.
