Ryan C :
Technically superposition hasn’t been proven experimentally because interpretations such as the pilot wave formulation make identical predictions for the double slit experiment without accepting superposition or wave function collapse

It’s not that they can be in 2 different states it’s that we don’t know which till measured. That’s like saying a flipped coin can be both till measured when you should say it’s neither but those options aren’t known till measured

the issue that’s not yet grasped is consciousness does not operate within the space/time language our minds interpret …thought is time itself

te hnically aren't they photons and not called electrons? unless you take into account that it is stimulated emission using a device that converts electrical charge into light which is bounced between two mirrors one not 100% reflective (laser lens) using a colored visual which lands onto a screen that we see, due to the slit itself being vertical and not two circular ones? so the separation from electromagnetic fields (light) is that which we observe?

A person walking through two doors somehow acts like a ghost and goes through both doors at once until you look at them. The moment you look, they choose only one door. And it can be any of those two doors.

This is just a really complicated way to say that superposition is the difference between the electron’s state as it’s observed or unseen. The “wave” is the “superposition”, and it’s only super positioned when unseen.

I feel like the video is misleading. The electrons are fired one at a time, but it still creates the scattered banding pattern which means the electron is affected by interference with itself, therefore the electron has to be passing through both slits at once and the wavefunction is a superposition state. But the phenomenon completely disappears if you take a measurement of which slit the particle passes through because taking measurements collapses the superposition state into one specific wave function so the result is two bands

Steve :
Something people get confused about in quantum physics is that they try to relate a concept with our macro universe. Superposition is not "being in two states simultaneously" and electrons do not act like both a particle and wave. Superposition is it's own thing. It is entirely unique and cannot actually be compared to anything in the macro world in any meaningful way that feels intuitve. Once you can grasp the idea that quantum physics is entirely unique and you stop trying to compare it to objects you see on a macro scale the more "intuitve" your understanding of it will be.

"Individual electrons" is the wrong picture. The electron is fundamentally a wave that is spread out in space, not the mathematical entity called a wave function.

Wait till they hear that if you actively WATCH that pattern being made, it doesn't form those multiple lines, just the two since there's only two slits...
