אין לי מה להגיד חוץ ממתכון להכנת אורז מתחילים עם כוס אחת של אורז לבן (בסמטי או פרסי עובדים מצוין), שוטפים אותו במסננת תחת מים קרים עד שהמים יוצאים כמעט שקופים – זה מוריד עמילן ומונע דביקות. אחרי השטיפה אפשר להשרות את האורז 10–15 דקות במים קרים ולסנן (לא חובה, אבל משפר מרקם). בסיר בינוני שמים כף שמן (או כף חמאה למי שאוהב טעם עשיר) ומחממים על אש בינונית, בערך 160–170 מעלות אם חושבים במונחים של כיריים חשמליות. מוסיפים את האורז המסונן ומערבבים כדקה–שתיים עד שהוא מצופה בשמן ומתחמם – לא צריך להשחים. זה עוזר לגרגרים להישאר נפרדים. מוסיפים 1.5 כוסות מים לכל כוס אורז (יחס 1:1.5), חצי כפית מלח, ומערבבים פעם אחת. מעלים את החום לגבוה עד לרתיחה מלאה (100 מעלות, רואים בועות גדולות), ואז מיד מנמיכים לאש הכי קטנה שיש (בערך 90–95 מעלות, רתיחה עדינה מאוד), מכסים עם מכסה אטום ולא פותחים. מבשלים כך 12–15 דקות. חשוב לא לערבב באמצע ולא להרים מכסה כי האדים הם מה שמבשל את האורז. אם הסיר דק ויש חשש שיישרף בתחתית, אפשר לשים מגבת דקה בין הסיר למכסה כדי ללכוד אדים ולפזר חום. אחרי הזמן מכבים את האש ומשאירים את הסיר סגור לעוד 5–10 דקות מנוחה. זה שלב קריטי שבו האורז מתייצב וסופג את שארית הלחות. רק אז פותחים ומאווררים בעדינות עם מזלג כדי להפריד את הגרגרים. אם יוצא יבש מדי, סימן שהיה חסר מעט מים או שהאש הייתה חזקה מדי; אם יוצא רטוב/דביק, כנראה היה יותר מדי מים או ערבוב מיותר. אחרי פעם-פעמיים אתה כבר תרגיש את זה מושלם
