Houses with no doors because theft was essentially unknown. Their history was cast in bronze on the palace walls. Not decorations. Books. The walls took 150 million hours to build. By hand. Guinness World Record: longest earthworks ever built before the mechanical age. James Phillips was told to wait two months. He came anyway. A month later Britain sent 1,200 soldiers. They burned the city, took thousands of bronzes and sold them to pay for the trip. One sold in 2016 for ten million pounds. Nine hundred and twenty eight are in the British Museum. A British law from 1963 says they cannot be returned. Benin has been asking since 1935. You probably were not taught this.
