Early is in time and on time is too late. I need people to be ready at their scheduled work time.

I have ADHD and I can't tell how much time is passing and I have no idea how long it takes me to get ready. Whenever possible, I put a fake time on my calendar that's 30 minutes before the real time I need to be somewhere.

there is no reason I should be deceiving grown adults with an earlier start time
of an event knowing that because they'll be late, they'll arrive at the real start time.

My mom is like this. She thinks if I give her a start and end time for something going on it means if she shows up anytime in the middle she is good. I have to tell her that the end time is just so people know in case they have something else going on that day. Also as a child who’s mom was always late therefore I was always the late child it is incredibly embarrassing to be that child and I now have intense anxiety about being even a minute late to things. I project it onto my children sometimes and get unreasonably angry at them when they are screwing around when we need to be getting ready to leave for something. I know when it happens so normally I just take step back and let my wife hop in so I don’t yell at them and I go sit in the car and cool off.

I am one hundred percent time blind. I don’t think it’s cute at all I just think that something that takes 25 minutes can be done in 5 minutes. It wasn’t til I had a son that I really started working on time management.

if I'm late, it's typically only a few minutes (5 or less), if its anymore, I'm letting someone know, bc typically some random crazy shit happened (Usually, it's due to the toddler making a mess that needs cleaned immediately, doesn't happen very often)

if someone says "pick us up between 6:30-6:45" that means pick up is at 6:30, 6:45 is the leeway for traffic. My parent in laws ALWAYS show up on the late end with no reason other than they wanted to. it pisses me off. We started just giving them one time and its 15 minutes before the actual time. 🫤

I’m always late but I have adhd and I have to tell myself that the event is 2 hours earlier just to get there on time.

there was a period of time when I was 10-20 min late for work every day. it was because I was burnt out & didn't want to be there but obviously couldn't just up & quit.

Yes I agree. But I'd like to inform that as a chronically very early person, when I was close to burnout I'd consistently show up late (like 5, 10 mins but still SO unlike me). That is apparently a very common symptom of burnout. Check up on your friends and family especially if they weren't late before❤️

personally, i have 5 kids under the age of 10 so some days getting out the door takes longer than expected 😅 and sometimes i completely lose track of time chasing the kids around

I leave early, I always try to leave early. I will always try to get out early. I will plan what time to get dressed in advance. i will always forget something or misjudge my time, I even add an extra 30 minutes. though I'm like 5 minutes late at the absolute latest (without anything unexpected like roadworks)

I am a chronically late person not because of disrespect or anything just bad time management and ADHD🤣 BUT I know this about myself so if I have something at 5 I’m ready and waiting by 3 so that I don’t get sidetracked and forget I have plans like I make sure I get there early because I know if I’m not early I am late😅
