The investigation revealed that the dangerous child abuser systematically targeted online networks to source extreme media. Prescott used his electronic devices as a mechanical necessity to download a massive archive of 1,829 child abuse videos and images, including Category B and C files targeting young boys aged three to seven. Proving his absolute non-compliance and extreme danger to children, Prescott continued downloading more files while on active police bail, leading to a secondary tactical raid by Merseyside Police on April 15, 2021, that unzipped a fresh cache of images. The court heard he was a high-risk repeat offender who had already broken a prior 2016 Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO) for hoarding 4,000 child abuse files. Recorder Ian Unsworth QC branded him a dangerous and prolific paedophile, jailing him for 30 months.
