All I could think while watching this video was despite how you felt you still cared, looked after and made sure your baby was safe. You go mama❤️🫶🏻

Before I seen any of the other comments, all I could think of was reading you say how you felt no connection but had every worry possible about your baby’s safety which screams how much of a wonderful mammy you are! So much hugs to you, the fellow mammys see you ♥️xxxxxx

Slides 3-6 are not talked about enough. I felt *zero* connection to my baby the entire pregnancy, birth, and like first month she was here. I felt like such a horrible mom bc I wasn’t experiencing these highs that other moms kept talking about. Turns out, it’s a much more common experience than I realized as a FTM.

I felt no connection to my daughter either. A nurse had to come to my house multiple times a week to work on us bonding. I thought i was evil for how i felt and would cry all the time. She told me that if i truly was the evil mum i was making myself out to be, i wouldn’t even be bothered. I wouldn’t cry. I wouldn’t worry. It really helped me process why i felt so disconnected and work through it, i just needed that pointing out to me. I was 16 and with little support, everyone told me id just feel this “rush” of love and I didnt and it ate me alive. My daughter is 6 now, and we learnt our bond and made it ourselves. Its now iron-clad. We’re inseparable! No struggle lasts forever ❤️

Don’t come at me for this… so many people said the minute you hold your baby it’s like love at first sight and your whole world stops… I didn’t feel this either.. I feel like it naturally comes within time and not the first month

Before I had my son everyone told me I’d get ‘this overwhelming feeling of love’ as soon as he was handed to me and I didn’t, I always wondered why I didn’t experience that, he was just a baby I cared for, until he was about 4 months old then it hit me how much I adored his little bones ☺️

I really wish I had watched a video like this 5 yrs ago when I had my son. Like yourself, I wanted a family and he was so wanted. Once he arrived and we got home, I was having panic attacks, couldn’t sleep, didn’t bond with him at all, even though I was breastfeeding?!! I thought I was broken, I was in an awful place for months. Hence the decision to only have 1 child, I couldn’t go through that again. Thank you for this xo
