I think if she doesn’t want sincere anymore or feels vulnerable being coupled up with him bc he’s shown interest in someone else, I think it makes sense for her to want to jump at any opportunity with the bombshell (who she is attracted to) otherwise she’d just be in the same position as the girl who supposedly should’ve gotten dibs for not being in a couple. It’s about what the bombshell chooses and it’s possible he wouldn’t even have chosen Mel but the other girls can still talk to the other guys, and most aren’t making it to the end anyways. I think what bothered Mel was that she was happy and excited and they started basically telling her she shouldn’t be and should feel guilty for basically not advocating for someone else over herself when she’s clearly in a vulnerable position as well based on how everyone talks about her on TikTok. But I also got some vibes from Melanie that she kinda already knew Bea was irritated with her by how she talked when she was walking up to the girls for the convo.
