Gameplay is used to further the narrative in every game the fact that in mania the time post signs are shown it’s a viable way for sonic to time travel in a cutscene just debunks that it’s a purely a gameplay mechanic

Sonic would still need to maintain a certain speed to be able to even time travel anyway if they wanna say the time post aren’t a game mechanic. The time post don’t even grant him any speed boost or nothing just an indication on where he’s going. Idk why people are still arguing this in 2026

I will say in the sign of the sign posts and such you mentioned. Sonic in frontiers which is cannon as we know, Sonic tells Sage his goal usually is a sign post or a giant gold ring. Which is stating Sonic knows the existence of the end. (most likely just a classic 4th wall break tho)
