One thing is important to point out: “beginner” doesn’t necessarily mean you’re new to Pilates. It’s often used as a blanket term for exercises that are more accessible for a variety of reasons. A beginner variation might be perfect for someone who is just starting out, but also for someone recovering from an injury, dealing with pain, low on energy, or simply wanting a gentler practice that day. Likewise, an experienced practitioner may choose the beginner option and still get exactly what they need from the exercise. And beginner doesn’t mean less effective.
