@hannahbfisher: Lately I’ve been thinking a lot about this stage of motherhood. When they’re little, you think those years are the sweetest — and they are. But no one really talks enough about what comes next. The teen years… the college years… the “they’re almost grown but still need you in different ways” years. I’ve found myself sitting in our loud kitchen lately — boys everywhere, food disappearing instantly, chaos in every direction — and realizing something I didn’t expect to feel so deeply… I’m not losing them as they grow up. I’m getting to know them in a completely new way. More conversations. More laughter. More opinions. More personality. And honestly… more friendship than I ever imagined I’d get to have with my kids.
