@darby_advocates: Two years ago, our SLP and I started a caregivers night, inviting parents and caregivers of students with disabilities to come to my classroom one evening a month. No fancy program. No huge agenda. Just a space to connect. Some nights we talked about resources like DVR, DDA, guardianship, and transition planning. Other nights we shared school updates, answered questions, or brought in guest speakers. But the magic happened when parents just started talking to each other. They shared advice. Celebrated wins. Talked through challenges. And realized they weren’t alone. If you’re an educator looking for a way to support families, this is your sign to start one. Sometimes the best thing we can give families isn’t another resource, it’s a community. #SpecialEducation #SpedTeacher #disabilityparenting #autismparents #AutismAcceptance

I am definitely going to try this. How long is it for? Do you have topics? Do students come too?
