Jinwoo was always strong mentally, he did all he could to make a living as a hunter even though he was given a bad hand, but the second he his hand improves so does his mentality about improving his stale situation he had grown accustomed to. Out of desire and determination. Some people get delt bad hands that feel like they can’t be turned into anything better, the system arguably was a bad hand, what he did with it is what helped him improve his situation.

As great as this analysis is, ironically, you are literally set in stone with what you have in the world of SL as a Hunter; Hunter's can become better Hunters through experience, but there is an innate ceiling when it comes to Ranking and Power unless one gets another Awakening. What literally makes SJW special is the System, which enables that infinite Awakening, a removal of said ceiling.
