Girllaaa !!! Thank you I thought I was going crazy. Something about KC is a lil off to me. I’m all for showing open love to black women but his feels forced. I never got the vibe from her she wasn’t confident about herself so why say that ..

I said what I said :
I hate how you made this video out to seem like KC is being performative. We don’t know what’s going on in that villa. Everything is edited so there can be a moment or a few that indicate that she’s not having the best experience in the villa as a thicker darkskin black woman with black features…

I get where your coming from but I think he was trying to approach this the best way he could to avoid this exact thought. Like I think he just wanted to acknowledge aniya and show he understood that a place like this is really hard to navigate as a black women and that he himself understands and sees it as unfair. I’m pretty sure he js read aniyas vibes on this island as exhausted as it is exhausting, and spoke out on exactly why. And he was RIGHT cuz Aniya obviously needed to hear that. Like it might be weird for the audience to hear this “sudden” praise because they didn’t clock how aniya was feeling but for those who were observant about aniyas situation this seems like a man who read a situation well and responded comfortingly rather then obtuse

I mean we only get to see an edited hour of their 24 hour day..I’m sure they’ve had several other conversations. Even leading up to this one, we don’t see everything. She may have expressed an insecurity 🤷🏾‍♀️

Yeah it felt a little too rehearsed for me and I think he was projecting just a little bit and darkskin women on the show have always been confident so i don’t understand why he had to tell her that …

Mind you think about the timing of when he said this. Aniya has the controlling vote that means she has the power to either pick him or another guy. It's like these people forgot this is a game or something. Like why you haven't complimented her like this before? like if this was a consistent thing then I'll be like ok but now it feels fake

I didn’t like that conversation because why would he assume she wouldn’t see herself as beautiful? Also it’s backhanded and shady when people tell black women that “I know being dark skinned is hard for you...🥺” stfu and get out of my face with that.

Ep 4 Wellness rituals- The power of choice. This one’s kinda controversial! I noticed a while back that telling clients early on that ‘you have a choice’ in regards to feelings often just leads them to disengage or not have faith in themselves or the therapy. This was then highlighted again when Diary of a CEO mentioned that in many cases, viewers drop off when his guests share that ‘you have a choice about how you feel’. So here’s my hypothesis off the back of the therapy I teach. When we tell people they have a choice, yet suggest they choose a specific option eg. to not react or hold back anger or be happy or whatever, we inadvertently take away their sense of that choice. Because it no longer feels like they really do get to choose. Guilt comes with any other choice than the one being suggested. Not to mention, many people feel so triggered at times that they don’t recognise having a choice as reality. Because it isn’t easy to choose differently when you are triggered right?! The way we communicate choice and make room for the person to choose helps them receive it better in my opinion. Know that you can choose differently even when you don’t feel like you can and sometimes you have to choose again and again. For example, letting go isn’t always a one time thing. You may have to choose it repeatedly. That isn’t failing, it’s choosing repeatedly. You may choose to let go and find said thing coming right back. Choose to let go again. Nothing is black and white and whilst it’s true that the way we respond to feelings is a choice, we can approach that with compassion and flexibility too. You’re human after all. What do you think? Does the idea of choice empower you or trigger you to disengage? 🤔 #wellnessrituals #choice #thechoiceisyours #therapist #therapistthoughts
