🚧 UPDATE ON THE SOMANYA–KPONG ROAD PROJECT 🚧 While we commend the contractor and all stakeholders for the steady progress made so far, we would like to once again draw attention to a serious drainage problem at the Atua Compania Filling Station area, near Benz Fitter. This is not the first time residents and road users have raised concerns about this issue, and we believe it requires urgent attention before the project proceeds further in that section. The drainage system there has significant defects, resulting in frequent flooding whenever it rains. Overflowing gutters affect shops, pedestrians, motorists, and nearby residents, causing inconvenience, property damage, and potential safety risks. More importantly, if these drainage challenges are not addressed before the road surfacing works continue, rainwater will continue to flow onto the roadway, increasing the risk of erosion and significantly reducing the lifespan of the newly constructed road. We respectfully appeal to the contractor, consultants, and the relevant authorities to prioritize fixing the drainage defects in this area before proceeding with the remaining road works. Addressing the root cause now will not only protect lives and property but also safeguard the huge investment being made in this important project. A well-constructed road is only as durable as the drainage system that supports it. Fixing the drainage problem today will help ensure that the road serves the people of Manya Krobo effectively and sustainably for many years to come. We remain grateful for the dedication, hard work, and commitment shown by the contractor, engineers, and all parties involved in this important project.
