Women on the other hand are told we are the emotional ones, the agreeable ones, the ones who go along to get along. And yet it is men who will silently endure a job they hate for forty years because a man above them said so. Men who will laugh at a joke they find cruel because the room expects it. Men who will not cry at a funeral because other men are watching. That is not strength. That is a very particular, very rigid, very exhausting form of submission. The difference is that women are at least starting to name the system and push back against it. Most men are still calling it honour.
