@drdavidmorris: Why Do You Always Wake Up at 3 A.M.? Waking up between 2 and 4 a.m. every night isn't always random. Consistent nighttime wake-ups may be connected to your body's stress response, sleep cycle regulation, blood sugar balance, and overall hormone health. Understanding the pattern behind your sleep disruption could be the first step toward improving your energy, focus, and recovery. ⚠️ Educational information only. Not medical advice. Whitch adaptogen herbs you are applying to take care for? I get red clover in the morning for years to sleep better. And ashvaganda in the night. I am 53.

Is that why I crave sugar right when I wake up? If I eat a couple cookies I'm able to go back to sleep but I can't go back to sleep if I don't eat something

What about having a bad dream, being bloated from over eating, sleeping in a bad position.
Some people sleepwalk. Is that cortisol?

I am just going through your videos and I love them all. Thank you for sharing your knowledge, expertise and patient experience. You are excellent at conveying information, so well structured and easily to follow and understand. I am battling autoimmune disease for over 20 years, previously treated with daily steroids… i decided to stop steroidal treatment and look for answers in alternative medicine and the more I am learning from naturopaths the more I am angry at our modern doctors for keeping my auto illness brewing and just masking the symptoms with “treatment” with multiple side effects. I feel like I am on a good pathway, changed my lifestyle and implemented so many therapeutic practices on a daily basis. Just want to say it’s people like you whom I learnt it all from. Thank you ☺️

I had this exact problem a few years ago. It started after a week of intermittent fasting (first and last time I tried it), and it went on for about 2 very long months. I tried everything, nothing fixed it. I even took slipping pills once or twice just to get a break so I can sleep at night and it worked but didn't fix the issue. Until I came across a video similar to this one that explained it might be a cortisol issue and I should eat a snack before bedtime. I was extremely skeptical but I didn't care anymore and I tried it. IT WORKED IMMEDIATELY LIKE A CHARM. I did this for 3 days and it completely fixed the issue for me! I couldn't believe how easy and effective it was. So yea, please please try this if you're struggling with waking at 3-5 and can't get back to sleep.
