I have been a owner of a construction and development company for thirty years and in the last six years I have never been so stressed and so broke. Closing down my company soon laying off 35 employees. Sick to death of working for the government

Given my new bathroom cost me £20k - which for the exact same thing 10 years ago in my last house cost £4K I’m not surprised. We want an extention.. it’s not even a big one and the lowest quote we have had is £250k. Again at our last house for the same - it cost me £50k. It’s mad. Totally unaffordable.
