I’m a week and a half in to gaining 20 lbs by the end of the year and here is what I’ve learned so far: 1. 200g of protein is actually a lot easier when I stop trying to get it all at once. Instead of trying to crush 100 grams in one meal, I just spread it throughout the day and slowly stack it up. 2. I’ve learned that I have to eat before I’m hungry. If I wait until I’m hungry, I’m already behind. So eating has become part of my daily schedule instead of something I just do whenever I feel like it. 3. I stopped trying to have perfect days. I don’t need to have the perfect diet or the perfect workout. I just need to do what I said I was going to do. If I miss my workout in the morning, I’ll find a way to get it done later that day. The goal is to stay consistent, not be perfect. 4. I started treating my diet like a video game. Every meal is basically a mission, and every time I get protein in, I’m adding points to my score. I don’t need to win the game every single day. I just need to keep stacking points. 200 grams of protein? Plus 200 XP. Workout? More XP. Do that every day and eventually, your character levels up. 5. And probably the biggest thing I’ve learned is that consistency beats complexity. I’m not counting every calorie. I’m not weighing every meal. I’m literally just focusing on 200 grams of protein, eating consistently, and training every day. And somehow, doing those simple things consistently helped me put on 5 pounds this week.
