He is not necessarily incorrect. In my opinion, he is referring to the origin of the country, not the Charter, which was written in 1982. I may be totally wrong and am willing to admit it, if this is the case. It is difficult to come to a sensible conclusion based on a 3 second clip. The Charter protects the rights of Christians, Sikhs, Muslims, Hindus, Jews, atheists, and others equally. Respecting different faiths is not contrary to Canadian values—it’s one of the freedoms the Charter was designed to protect.
