Unless you are doing retail, dont do barcodes, yes, you are alocating 10 skus globally, but unless you are going to store it somewhere else that you dont own, no need. If you are selling from home, no need, amazon and other marketplaces also handle it for you

You’re misusing the term barcode. The barcode just encodes a specific number. What you’re paying for is not the barcodes but the number that is officially associated with your product, you could theoretically use any number you want if you don’t need that.

How i would start and what i recommend it you start purely online until you get some capitol and then i would move over to retail and worry about the bar codes later on

a unique number that 1 identifies you and 2 the individual product, that allows for selling across the world (after individual country regulations) hopefully expanding it out like that makes that cost sting just a little less

the codes can, in fact, still be duplicated thats not a guarantee they offer. Much like patents guarantee no one will copy you (your product was already copied and is now cheaper).
