Turkish here ♥️definitely recommend more local neighborhoods like Bebek , Arnavutkoy and Nisantasi - full of coffee shops and restaurants , the touristic sites in Istanbul are beautiful but I always recommend all my foreign friends to visit more local neighborhoods too 💛 hope you have a great time in Istanbul 🥰

Welcome to my country! I hope you enjoy your visit. The water for the Basilica Cistern was brought through a system of aqueducts built by the Romans. These aqueducts carried water from reservoirs and springs outside the city. The water was stored in the cistern to provide a reliable supply for the Great Palace and nearby buildings wanted to mention that I am an archaeologist😊🌸
