wow that's crazy I totally agree I did work like this with at the time no training/ qualifications and its tough and extremely underpaid for the responsibility givin .that was years ago!

25 years in care. did some amazing things and really proud of what i helped people achieve. but yeah 8 years after leaving im still exhausted by it. could never go back

As a carer I treat them like my own and do the best I can for them so they’re never left without, as an employee I despise the company, office staff are by far the worst.

done care in the community, I absolutely loved it but the management broke me to the point I'd never do it again. a lot of these care companies need to look into their office staff as they are the ones who treat the staff like shit

bet you this is the same company i’m at in scotland. same 2 training courses at the start, barely any managerial input for a year, and were left on our own to look after a whole MH complex. i’m sorry you had to go through this too! it was barbaric at times lol

I feel for you. I did community care & live in care & NEVER again. I've got permanent back injuries as well. I used to get woken up during the night to be asked what time it was. Another one used to wake me up to make tea at 2am. Pay is disgraceful. They treat you like poop.

57, doing 14hr shifts ... been attacked quite a few times .... but I love to make a difference to there life's. I love the job , but it's not for the faint hearted ... The pay is shit, for what we do......
