They were a couple. The book version at least. It wasn’t as strong as their grandparents marriage but still solid. Helaena was Aegon’s advisor in the book.

they strike me as siblings who had things in common and a mutual understanding as siblings. They didn't want to marry each other and were repulsed by it, but did it for duty and sometimes try show each other grace and kindness in the crappy situation they're in, if even distant. they gift each other little things in the background and peek at each other.
