1. Indonesia doesn’t have significant historical ties with USA 2. Most of Indonesians can hardly speak English 3. No modern nationwide war / conflict that forced Indonesians to seek asylum (except for Chinese-Indonesian that were once persecuted during 1998 unrest) 4. USA and Indonesia are (quite) literally on the opposite hemisphere 5. Most Indonesians can’t afford moving to USA by choice.

i think theres also a lot in the suriname, the javanese cultures are revolving everyday on the country and they even can speak javanese, and even have the same interest in javanese musics like campursari, keroncong and a lot of more javanese modern musics

firstly , Indonesia is not so screwed up that millions are desperate to leave, unlike some neighbouring country. Second, most Indonesians who are in USA are the wealthy Indonesian Chinese who have studied in the US and decided to stay there.
