@paw_worldwide: The Story of a Forgotten Hero ❤️ Many of you may remember General, the retired Army German Shepherd who we rescued on June 11th, 2025 from a heartbreaking situation of neglect and abuse after his military service had ended. When General was found, he was living in terrible conditions. A chain had become embedded in his neck, he was severely underweight, covered in wounds, and deprived of the care and dignity he had earned after years of loyal service. The dog who had once served his country had been forgotten by the very people who were supposed to protect him. Today, General is a completely different dog. After receiving veterinary care, proper nutrition, and endless love, he has regained his strength, his health, and his spirit. He is happy, affectionate, and enjoys his beloved stuffed toys. ❤️ General may be a senior, but he still has so much love to give. He deserves a peaceful retirement surrounded by kindness, comfort, and a family who will cherish him for the rest of his days. His rescue also helped spark important discussions about the protection and adoption of retired military working dogs, ensuring that more heroes like General receive the care they deserve after their service ends. No hero should ever be forgotten. Thank you to everyone who helped give General the second chance he so deserved. 🙏❤️
